SCHOOL DAY
Children attend school for 32.5 hours per week. Start |
Finish 3.30pm |
Lunch 12.30– 13.30 |
ASSEMBLIES
We hold an assembly every day. These are delightful and thoughtful occasions, we invite the children to reflect on caring, sharing and kindness.
We encourage the children to develop knowledge and understanding of their own religion and a deep respect for other faiths.
Each week we have an achievement assembly, a celebration of all that the children have achieved at school, and at the end of the week we come together as a school to have celebration or class assemblies.
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
We place great importance on attendance and punctuality. Children who are not in school cannot learn, and children who are late miss important introductions to lessons. Families have an important role to play in ensuring that their children attend well and are on time each day. Both attendance and punctuality at primary school tend to set the pattern for later years, so we ask all parents to co-operate in making sure that children attend regularly and on time.
TRAVEL TO AND FROM SCHOOL
At West Hampstead Primary School we encourage healthy and responsible travel to and from school by using bicycles, scooters, public transport where possible or walking.
If your child is in Year 5 or 6 you can give them permission to walk home alone at the end of the day. Please complete a 'Walk Home Alone' form attached below or available at the school office.
